Exactly one year and thirty-five days since the disappearance of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, whose house was raided by the military in Umuahia, Abia State, the IPOB leader appears to have surfaced. He was reportedly spotted praying in Jerusalem, the capital of the Israel.
He was seen alongside some IPOB members who had accompanied him on his mysterious journey to Israel.
Kanu's disappearance has fomented large scale confusion in Nigeria with many including the United Kingdom suspecting the Buhari administration of having killed or locked away the staunchest advocate the country has known since Odumegwu Ojukwu, the propounder of the Indigenous People of Biafra movement in 30th May 1967.
His community, the Afaraukwu-Ibeku in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia has repeatedly demanded the whereabouts of Eze Israel Kanu since the september 2017 “Operation Python Dance II” in Abia and has declared him missing.
Kanu's disappearance has also stalled his trial as he had since jumped and contravened the terms of his bail.
Mazi Kanu is the traditional ruler of Afaraukwu Autonomous Community and father of Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
Addressing newsmen in Umuahia, Chief Emeka Ezebuiro, the President General of Afaraukuwu Ibeku Development Union, said that the community was still at a loss over the disappearance of their royal father.
Ezebuiro said that the community had been passing through psychological trauma since the monarch got missing.
