Stay Put As We Present To You Fela's Philosophical Thought On Organised Religion. Christianity As A Case Study.

      To be spiritual is not just by praying and going to church alone. Spiritualism is the understanding of the universe so that it can be a better place to live in.
Fela Anikulapo Kuti (15 October 1938 – 2 August 1997),
     According to  Fela kuti, Your relationship to your fellow human and your environment determines your closeness to God. He his of the view that God proved it when bible said love your neighbour as yourself. When I was hungry you gave me food to eat, thirsty, you gave me water to drink, sick you visited me, imprisoned, you came to see me, now enter into the home of my father. You can't say you have a relationship with God if you don't have with men and live peacefully, its not just about going to church or mosque or the likes. How well do you understand your universe, country or environment and area? The Pharisees and Sadducees, are those church and mosque going people who thinks by going to church or mosque only they know God and will make heaven, they pay their tax just as the people of those days. Jesus came to let us know that they are not righteous, rather they are to feed the people, sell their riches to bless the poor and that is the only way they can know true love and peace can manifest i.e the mystery behind giving and blessing. He did not come for the so called hypocrite but for the poor "Universe" God understanding the universe.
       Fela is of the idea that Jesus was killed not because he said He is the son of God, they all knew he was the son of God, rather they only used that fact as an excuse to nail him because he opened people's eyes to giving and helping the poor in the society. Many heard about him from far and near, they came miles upon miles to see a man who feed the poor. And as a result of his teaching people's wealth were no longer going to the synagogues but round the society, helping themselves and the poor among them. Soon those who came from far also tapped into this mystery and went to their various cities also giving and helping one another and the poor, and synagogues there also started losing money that the roman empire's wealth had large margin of loss.
      The scribes, Pharisees, Sadducees and others were not making the usual money and prestige they use to make again, so they disguise and claimed to be Jesus's followers and with this achievement they were able to metamorphose the ideas and doctrines of the synagogues into a new form called the "Church" pretending to be helping themselves in the communities. Fela believe this mystery is not for everyone as the bible itself establish it that narrow is the way to heaven. And to him "To be spiritual is not just by praying and going to church alone. Spiritualism is the understanding of the universe so that it can be a better place to live in..." It is not claiming to be Lovers of God or His children and yet not living by Its principles.  
       He his of the opinion that your actions on earth will determine your after life. Christianity is not a religion.. Its is a way of life, Jesus lived understanding the universe and that was why in Antioch the disciples were called Christians, because  they saw that they behaved like Jesus, giving, healing, feeding the poor. People were no longer going to the synagogues but following Jesus at that time because when good principles supersedes laws or custom, people know and do what liberates and give or radiates joy amongst everyone.
    Fela believe organised religion is a means through which spiritualism is being manipulated with the doctrines and principles of the synagogues.
